Decrypting Codes

On Friday we learned about creating and breaking codes using matrices. This is a good example of how adding and subtracting matrices can be used. Be sure to get notes from someone if you were not in class. You should know how this process works for future assessments.

Coming up:
- We will continue looking at matrices this week.

Logic Puzzle Extra Credit

I was not in class today but hopefully you worked on logic puzzles for extra credit on the last test!

Coming up:
- We will continue looking at matrices tomorrow

Matrices

Today we began looking at exactly how matrices are created. We talked about the size of the matrix, and how to express a particular element of a given matrix. You should complete most of this worksheet before Wednesday.

Remember that I will not be in class tomorrow.

Coming up:
- I will return your tests Wednesday
- You should complete the worksheet from today before class on Wednesday

Election Theory

Today we talked about 3 different algorithms dealing with Election Theory. Remember that each of these methods require the use of a preference schedule! The three algortithms discussed were: the Borda method, Runoff method, and Sequential Runoff method. Be sure that you have really clear notes on each of these processes. It is essential that you know how to follow them, but do not worry too much about how they work. You should also know the difference between plurality and majority winners. Tomorrow we will do an activity in class dealing with these different methods.

Have a great week!
